If We Can You Can!

If We Can You Can Award Winner Business Growth 2011 Logo

Our company was chosen by the Entrepreneurs Forum as one of the joint winners of the Growth Award this year. Last year was record year for the company in terms many aspects of its business. We are grateful for the recognition as it follows up a sucessful 2010. Winning awards is a great buzz it becomes even harder to win the next one. We hope it demonstrates the ambition and desire within the company to continually improve its service and processes. We also hope it will attract even more ambitious staff to the company.

More Awards for Cell Pack Solutions – Not This Time

We were short listed in the 2010 Future Manufacturing Awards run by the EEF . This is what they say about themselves “EEF is the most powerful force backing UK manufacturing. Powering its growth with potent thought leadership. Making it fit for the future – and effective in the present – with switched-on business services. And representing its interests at the heart of government. When manufacturing gets moving, EEF is its engine.”

We were invited to the very swanky Oulton Hall in Leeds and were treated to an excellent lunch. Unfortunately this year was not our year. If you are interested the winners of all the regions can be found in the GALLERY.  Entries for next years competition are open next year. Why not give it a go.

Entering Awards gives you a great opportunity to take a look at the workings of your company and win or lose you will get some benefit form doing this. We have been quite fortunate over the years and we feel that winning, coming runner up or even just been shortlisted has been one of the factors that have helped us to grow and keep our head in front of our competition in the highly competitive Battery Market.

Environmental Award Step 2010

Paul Stratford, Production Mananger and our Enviromental Guru pictured above proudly picking up the award at the recent Step Awards 2010. Paul is the one holding the award, he has just been handed the award from Andrew Ward of Groundward South Tynside – who very kindly sponsored the Award.

Paul  has been the driving force over the last 12 months towards our drive to achieving ISO14001.

As well as being an extremely hard working member of our team, Paul is also in serious training. He will be embarking on a cycle ride from London to Paris in Aid of the Stroke Society, this September.

More details will follow.

Annual Step Event Awards

Annual Step Awards Event Winner Cell Pack Solutions (2010)
I am pleased to announce that Cell Pack Solutions had one of its most sucessful nights in its history. We picked up awards in the category for Best Manufacturing Company, the Environmental Award and then topped off the night by being chosen as the Best Company in South Tyneside (well at least of all the companies that entered into the whole event).

You either love Awards Ceremonies or you hate them, you might guess that I am in the former category. I love them, I love the whole process of thinking about the the achievements that your company has made over the previous year, thinking about how to get the specific answers to the specific question. You need to enter in the right spirit, and win or lose you need to take the positives out of the situation. Often you need to take a long term view, the questions are often geared towards finding best practice, so if you cannot answer a question well one year then work on it over the following year. If you keep improving and entering then eventally you are going to suceed. We won our first Step Award about 12 years ago, as a start up company we won BEST PROMISING NEW BUSINESS. I remember it well and I also remember dreaming how one day we would get the top Award. I spent 12 years building a really great team of people and kept plugging away. Winning any Award gives your company great free PR, it can raise your profile and it can bring fantastic opportunities. The STEP Awards are special because they are local and as a firm believer in supporting the local Business Community I have entered this event most years, we managed to get runners up spot in the Innovation Category two years ago.

The last 12 months have been very good for us, we have made a number of great changes and have have had our most successful year to date in many different aspects of our business. On a personal note getting to the top of Mount Kalapathar, at Base Camp Everest was literally my high point, but as a team effort last night was an even higher point.

The biggest challenge is the next challenge.

If you would like to see all the other images of the night then please check  http://stepbusinessawards.co.uk/

Even better – have a go next year.

E Legacy Awards Finalist

E-Legacy Awards Finalist

We sent John down to London to the Lavish Lunch in the middle of London to see whether we were fortunate enough to have been a winner. Alas the answer was no – Thanks anyway to those of you that took the time to vote. It was always going to a difficult proposition for us, some of the bigger companies obviously have a bigger network of customers. Well done to the winners of each category.

As a way of a thank you the company donated some batteries and wind up torches to some friends who are on a 10 trip to Nepal on a humitarian mission.

E Legacy Awards

E-Legacy Awards Finalist

Came back from a really great weeks holiday in Salou to find the following email in my inbox – better than the normal spam.

CONGRATULATIONS ! ! – Cell Pack Solutions have been selected as a finalist in The e-Legacy Awards 2009. In its third year running, we received a phenomenal amount of nominations. The recession seems to have had a positive effect on innovation as we have had a record number of entries this year, up by 12% on last year. Or maybe the reason for the increased entries is the awareness of The e-Legacy Awards and their relevance to modern industry. Either way, we are delighted to have had such an excellent selection. The judges have had to choose 6 finalists from each category as the competition was so vast.
The final vote now goes to the EPD readers and others who will be invited to vote via email, online and in print, from now until November. Should you wish to promote yourselves further please feel free to do so, attached is our logo and the link to vote on our site is http://www.epdonthenet.net/awards_vote.aspx
EPD is a widely read specialist Design Magazine, we are very flattered that a small company like ourselves are even thought worthy to compete against some of the largest names in the Electronics Industry. It just goes to show that unless you try you will never succeed. We would really appreciate it some of our friends, colleagues, past and future customers could take a few minutes to vote for us.

More about great customer service we recieved on our holiday shortly.

Annual Quality Audit

We had our annual ISO Quality Audit Today and we decided to take the opportunity to move to the latest standard ISO 9001:2008 Standard.

A company or organization that has been independently audited and certified to be in conformance with ISO 9001 may publicly state that it is “ISO 9001 certified” or “ISO 9001 registered”. Certification to an ISO 9001 standard does not guarantee any quality of end products and services; rather, it certifies that formalized business processes are being applied.

All the systems dont prevent the occasional mistake but we are trying our best to remove the occasional silly error.

Shortlisted for the North East Digital Awards 2008

We managed to get onto the shortlist for one of the awards for the second year in succession.
This year the event was held at the Newcastle Centre for Life. Unfortunately we were not successful in the end but the fun is in the trying. Congratulations to the winners.
