Planned Expansion Goes Ahead

Today we got the go ahead to take on an addition business unit next to our existing units in the TEDCO Business Centre in South Shields. That brings our total work space upto the 2000 Sq ft mark. We are currently undergoing a major reorganization of our work area to enable us to utilise the area to greater effect and to increase our production capabilty.

Our ecommerce websites continue to bring in some interesting battery inquiries from all over the world, we estimate that with around 2000 different types of batteries together with the ability to make up custom special packs we offer one of the widest ranges on the internet today.

Our day was also brightened with the visit of one of our ex employees, Tom, who having spent a few years with us, went on to Cambridge University where after getting a first class degree he is doing his PHD and having a great time.

Shortlisted for the North East Digital Awards 2008

We managed to get onto the shortlist for one of the awards for the second year in succession.
This year the event was held at the Newcastle Centre for Life. Unfortunately we were not successful in the end but the fun is in the trying. Congratulations to the winners.

Rechargeable Batteries and Battery Solutions

There are various ways, as an individual, you can reduce the impact your lifestyle has on the planet and they don’t have to be expensive or time consuming to facilitate.

Recycling is simple enough to get involved in and every little effort helps, consider recycling your old batteries or even better using rechargeable ones. Most common electrical items we use daily need batteries to operate them, but instead of buying a one time use disposable battery try a rechargeable one as it means less waste and pollution. Rechargeable batteries can be used for everyday use just as disposable alkaline batteries can.

As the demand for batteries grows so has the need to find reliable and safe ways to dispose and recycle them. Batteries can contain harmful chemicals and metals, including nickel, mercury and lead acid, which if not disposed of correctly and safely can cause harm to the environment. If they are simply thrown away, batteries can pollute lakes and streams as the metals vaporize into the air when burned exposing the environment and water to lead and acid.

If they are left to decompose naturally in a landfill the toxic substances within them are released and leak slowly into the surrounding soil, groundwater or surface water causing corrosion of the soil and serious health hazards for people and wildlife. If we were all to throw away our batteries after they have run out there would literally be millions of them littering the earth and polluting our atmosphere.

Many local authorities now have special banks or collections for electronic waste where you can be sure your old batteries are disposed of safely. Recycling can save resources as the recovered plastic and metals can be used to produce new batteries.

To reduce or prevent household battery waste there are a few things you can do. Always check first to see if you already have the batteries you need in the house before going out and buying more. If at all possible, try to find a product that can be operated by hand instead of the version that uses batteries. If you have to buy batteries try to find ones that contain less mercury and heavy metals. Consider rechargeable batteries for some needs, but remember that they also contain heavy metals such as nickel-cadmium and will eventually need to be disposed of safely too.

Rechargeable batteries are much more environmentally friendly than disposable ones, even if your rechargeable batteries only last 100 times, at least you have saved throwing away 100 alkaline batteries in the trash. Rechargeable batteries cost far less when calculated on a per use basis and are worth the initial cost you have to pay.

Make sure you invest in quality batteries and a charger, if you buy cheap batteries from the local store then don’t be surprised when they only last for a short time. Batteries can be recharged more than a hundred times or more before they need to be replaced. Imagine the saving you can make long term as there will no longer be a need to buy new batteries every time they run out.

New technology means that rechargeable batteries can easily provide 30% to 50% more energy than regular alkaline disposable batteries.

If you consider how many products use batteries these days, amongst them radios, laptops, iPods, watches and clocks, portable stereos, mobile phones and digital cameras, as children’s toys become more advanced each year they usually require batteries to perform their various tricks and stunts.

As technology improves the rise in the number of batteries needed also increases and they have become a necessary part of our lives, without batteries our daily routine would be a lot less mobile and convenient.

For your battery solutions check online where you can find suppliers of single-use and rechargeable batteries. Rechargeable batteries have a far longer life span than other one time use batteries and can last for years, some manufacturers of rechargeable batteries claim their batteries can be expected to last as long as 3000 charge cycles.

Overall, rechargeable batteries can provide many benefits both to the environment and economically and they are great way to start your contribution towards taking care of our planet.

10 Reasons to be Cheerful!!

Strong sales, record web site traffic, new products – yes, approaching our 10th Anniversary, Cell Pack Solutions celebrates with a cheerful smile! In fact the last few months have been some of our strongest ever – great news as we approach the next 10 years with confidence. Despite the gloomy economic forecasts in recent weeks, Cell Pack Solutions sales of custom made cell packs and industrial batteries are at a record high. Bolstered by new products and improved design and manufacturing techniques our custom made services are in high demand.
Eddie Czestochowski – the founder and managing director of Cell Pack Solutions says: “We started from humble beginnings in a small unit at Tedco in Jarrow in 1998. Now we employ 16 people in manufacturing, stores, sales and marketing in our new facilities in South Shields. Our marketing strategy of targeting specific markets and keeping focused on them works. For instance each of our web sites serves different market sectors and we make it easy for people to find us and the products/services they need”.

Our industrial web site www.cellpacksolutions.co.uk is going through a complete re-development. Here we feature the standard ranges of industrial batteries from the array of manufacturers that we represent and work with along with our custom made cell pack services. The site is going to feature full e-commerce and online buying and will enable customers to benefit from quantity discounts when buying online – saving them money in the process.

The site also features full battery datasheet specifications shown as online pages and as PDF downloads – useful for product designers, engineers and OEM’s that need full battery and cell pack specifications.

Eddie continues: “Our aim is to provide as much useful information to customers as possible online. We also are able to help with hard to find batteries and can build cell packs that are obsolete. We have built up a huge database of battery and cell pack cross references that enable us to help most companies – if we cannot find a battery or cell pack to suit, then we can design and develop a new one for them.”

“As we celebrate our first 10 years of success we are all looking forward to the exciting challenges not just on the horizon but over the next 10 years!”

Young Andrew Completes Work Experience

Off To A Racing Start!

Young Student Andrew Nickerson was presented a Remote Control Kit Car after completing his two weeks work experience with Cell Pack Solutions.

Andrew, a student of Mortimer School and also on the TDR young apprentice program spent two weeks at the company working in the Custom Battery Assembly Division and in the company’s newly established Remote Control Hobbies Division. As part of his experience he built a Racing Car from Kit form and assisted in Repairs as well as getting to grips with the assembly processes involved in Custom Battery Pack Design.

Derek Hunter Divisional Manager of CPS HOBBIES decided that it would be a nice gesture to give Andrew a reward for his enthusiasm demonstrated over the time he spent with us. This is the second year in row the company has assisted in the Schools Work Experience Scheme, we had full support from all parties Connexions, Mortimer School and TDR and are looking forward to getting involved in the future.

Reviews

At Cell Pack Solutions we are always looking at ways in which we can improve our service to the customer. That is why we have decided to create a section on each of our product pages, where you can add a product review or look at what other people have had to say about the product. So far this has proven popular; customers have been leaving tips on what devices certain batteries go in.

In addition to this some customers are leaving helpful tips to ensure fellow customers are correctly installing there batteries. Due to our great effort in developing this feature we would appreciate if after you order from us, you could leave some feedback on the product.

We would like to like to Thank You in advance for your forthcoming input.
